SBH Design & Installation Services was founded in 1981 as specialist contractors in refrigeration and air conditioning. As our name suggests, we are experienced in the design and installation of all types of commercial/light industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Contracts undertaken range from small air conditioning installations (approximately £1,200) to whole food factory installations of £1million and above. All projects are managed by our own directly employed staff.

The majority of our refrigeration work is particularly for the food industry, a considerable amount being for food producers and ready meal manufacturers. This not only involves cold storage for products, either chilled or frozen, but also heavy duty blast chilling or blast freezing applications, the design of which is in line with Government guidelines for cooking, chilling and freezing.

Maintenance

Any machinery which is in constant use needs regular maintenance to ensure that it is functioning correctly and safely and that moving parts are adequately lubricated. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equipment is no exception to this. And the larger the installation, the more important it is that routine maintenance is carried out at the right times by the right experts.

Maintenance of equipment also ensures that it runs efficiently, which results in savings in electricity costs. In particular, air filters require changing regularly, and this can be part of an agreement with SBH. Many of our customers rely on us to provide replacement filters on a regular basis, e.g. quarterly or 6-monthly, to maintain the operating efficiencies and air volumes of the equipment installed.

SBH use their own qualified engineers, not subcontractors, to carry out all routine maintenance at the correct time intervals and in accordance with equipment manufacturers' specifications.
Design

Design

Our qualified staff are able to take an initial brief from a customer and develop the design and drawings into a full specification for the works required. This results in a package of priced works against which contracts can be placed.

We have a qualified and experienced team capable of the design of commercial/light industrial systems and all types of air conditioning.

On many occasions we have taken the plan of a factory and developed the whole of the refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation into a full set of drawings complete with a specification for approval by the customer and his professional team i.e. Architect, Consultant etc. We have attended pre-Contract meetings to provide our advice and technical expertise as part of the development team for many large projects calling on SBH's many years of experience.
